Baby figs?

18 May

My little fig tree looks so happy in his new pot!! I thought this smaller one wasn’t as content as the other plant but looks like I will get getting my first dogs this year!
I bought these off amazon or eBay….
I believe this is the violet de Bordeaux?!

More bountiful blueberries

18 May

This comes mainly from three plants. Al grown in containers.

Big bunch of Blueberries!

18 May

Here’s a good bowl of blueberries harvested 5/9/16
I also have a couple of peaches. My peach trees were damaged in the storm earlier this year so not many fruits this year.

I growed these! Tango mandarins and Meyer Lemon. February 2015 already?!

12 Feb

Yay, first decent fruit from my trees. I have to say I have been watering and caring for this tango mandarin for many years and only now I can say it is producing edible fruit and quite a few for a small tree.

The Meyer lemon tree I have only had for a year. So impressed I get one big fat juicy lemon.

Hope I have many more happy citrus years to come.

July update. Olives, goji berries and ugly fairy tale eggplant

20 Jul

My little goji berry twig from eBay had started flowering. Can’t wait for some little berries.

It’s quite twiggy looking so I transferred it to a bigger hanging pot. Looks better already. Probably shouldn’t repot whilst it’s flowering but it looks kinda hardy. Let’s hope I’m right!

Here’s my little olive tree. Lots of leaves.

And my crazy fast growing Dragon Fruit cactus.

It’s about 5 ft tall and out of control! All efforts to tame it has left me with prickles so now it’s against the wall so the wall can support it.

Here’s the two little figs from eBay from the same seller as where I bought the goji berry from.

Still a lot of growing til I get real figs.

Here’s my messy area. I also brutally cut some big fat branches off the blueberries as I vaguely remember reading that any over an inch in diameter had to be cut. I hope i didn’t make that up! Anyway, lots of grooming to hopefully make healthier plants.

And lastly, the ugly fairy tale eggplant. Why are the colours so bland?!

A jar of fruit harvest. Last of the 2014 peaches

30 May

I was wondering when these were going to ripen but they ended up being crunch tasty peaches this year instead of soft ones. Which was actually awesome as they didn’t fall off and rot when neglected for a week or so 😉

Small but tasty. Definitely not tart, even hubby liked them this year. I wonder what makes them soft and juicy some years and other years like this batch….

Some thing to do with weather… I love natures variety but am sad I have to wait a whole year to sample more!

All these we’re from container trees/plants. Seems like a got fewer blueberries this year. Southmoon definitely produces tastier larger berries. Misty is tasty too but some are small but seems to have a longer fruiting season.

Here’s another batch of peaches from earlier in the week.

Another jar of paler peaches from earlier in the year. These are from the tropic prince tree. Did not taste too good. Very tart and softer. Occasional juicy one. These were falling off the tree back in April so it picked them all.

May olives

Tiny olives!
